Hello Jessie and Goodbye Hector!

4th February 2019
Think U Know's February newsletter is full of useful information, including helping you to prepare for this week's Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 5th February.

One particularly useful section involves the launch of an exciting new resource - Jessie and Friends (coming March 2019) and the subsequent retirement of the Hector's World resources so many schools are familiar with.

Here's more information on that announcement, and you can access the full newsletter by clicking this link:

Hello Jessie & Friends and Goodbye Hector!

Our new resource for 4-7 year olds, Jessie & Friends, will be released March 2019. Children will see the adventures of Jessie and her friends when they explore the online world; watching videos, sharing pictures and playing games. The three animations aim to help children to develop key skills to help make these experiences as safe as possible. A comprehensive resource pack for professionals which has received the PSHE Association Quality Assurance Mark will be available as part of this package, as well as information and advice for parents and carers. More information on Jessie & Friends will be announced via our social media channels (@CEOPUK  and ClickCEOP) in advance of the launch and via an email update on the day of launch. Thank you once again to the large number of schools (and of course children) who took part in the pilot. We can’t wait for you all to see the final product!

The introduction of Jessie & Friends will coincide with the retirement of Hector’s World and all the associated lesson plans and activities, which will no longer be available to use from March 2019. We would like to thank Hector for all his hard work over the past decade and we hope he enjoys his well-earned retirement.

Lee & Kim will however still be available and we will be releasing an updated version of the resource pack in March to ensure it is in line with the current primary national curriculum and addresses the ways in which this age group are currently using technology and accessing the internet. We will also be making some changes to our current 5-7’s website during this time.
